In this workshop we will explore the creative potential that is available when combining the principles of Osteopathic Treatment and the practice of Continuum Movement. Taking time over a 3-day period to slow down the tempo of how we listen and relate to our bodies allows a deepening of the expression of Health and well-being. Osteopathy and Continuum are both based on a philosophy that trusts in the deep wisdom of the body to be self-healing when allowed to fully express and freely organize movement.
This workshop is an invitation to engage in an experience, a felt-sense of many concepts that are usually only experienced while being treated by an Osteopath. This experience is valuable both as a way to learn self-treatment, and for health care practitioners, as a way to develop and deepen one’s diagnostic and treatment skills.
To explore this realm, we will cultivate awareness to our internal experience through breath, sound, and movement. Participants learn to trust that there is deep wisdom that guides the body to self-correct. Stepping outside of our preconceived notions and the popular cultural models of what we think of as “the body” we can discover the deep inner world that is an unending resource for healing, adaptability, and change.
