Exploring The Embodied Face
Event Time: Sunday, February 28, 2021, noon – 3 pm Eastern time
Event will be on Zoom
This workshop is open to all members of my Engaging The Movement of Life Online study group, as well as anyone with previous Continuum experience.
This workshop is a way to experience longer dives than we do in my Engaging The Movement of Life Online Study Group, as well as an antidote to “mask culture.” Our faces are deprived of receptive and expressive capacities during these times. We will explore the face, the tongue, the sacrum, the heart, the gut, the hands and feet, and more. This workshop will enliven your experience of your face as a portal to embodied wholeness.

Join me in the exploration of health and embodiment. In each session we will dive deeply into the words of my book and reach beyond to new realms of experience and understanding. In each meeting I will share additional information and insights that I’ve had since publishing the book.
There will be group discussions, inquiry, and shared reflections. Breath, sound, movement, and guided meditations will be vehicles for exploring the content of the book, along with perceptual inquiries to deepen our experience of being alive in a body. By joining our attention to the rhythms and movements of our body, we can do more than just go through the motions of living. We can access a portal opening into a depth of embodied understanding of the creative process we call health.
In this group, we will combine discussing the book and experiencing the book’s content. For each session I will offer several “mini-dives” that support exploration of the topic. This is not a full Continuum workshop; it focuses more on exploring the concepts in my book. The dives will be short, 2-10 minutes long, and sometimes guided. This is a great way for people new to Continuum to learn the practice, and a great way for experienced Continuum practitioners to gain experiential insight into some foundational concepts.
Experience and familiarity with Continuum and/or Osteopathy are helpful, but not required. All that you need to join is a body and curiosity!

Transformative Self-Care: An Exploration of Embodied Sensation Through Movement, Mindfulness, and Osteopathy.
The following is a description of the event, which will hopefully happen in 2021 or 2022.
Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Stockbridge, MA
The primary language of the body is silent-felt sensation. This workshop will present a wide scope of views and opportunities to experience the wisdom and creativity of this language of your senses.
Discover the radical possibilities in health and well-being available when you combine the fluid movement practices of Continuum and mindfulness meditation with the principles of osteopathic treatment into the way you care for yourself. Cultivate awareness of internal experience through breath, sound, meditation, and movement, and integrate these practices into daily life, nurturing a renewed sense of devotion to self-care.
Restore trust in the wisdom of your body as you allow yourself to sense deeply. Step outside your preconceived notions about your body and discover your inner resources for resilience, adaptability, and change. This workshop offers the tools you need to access this inner healing realm on your own.
This workshop experience can be valuable both as a form of self-exploration and self-care, and as a way for practitioners to develop and deepen the perceptual skills used with patients or clients.
In this workshop we will explore innovative views of:
what our senses are and how we can cultivate experiencing sensation more effectively
how to choose where to put our attention
the relationship between the brain, the gut, the face, the heart, and health
psycho-neuro-immunological relationships mediated by the senses
the interpersonal neurobiology of the senses
perceiving “the field of the senses” in ourselves and in others
inner resources for resilience, adaptability, and change
cultivating curiosity as a way of coping with uncertainty
radically reimagine how you care for yourself
refining awareness of internal experience
our interconnectedness with each other and with nature
All “levels” of ability and experience are welcome.
Bonnie Gintis offers a unique blend of Osteopathic principles and philosophy, scientific and medical information, poetry, and perceptual inquiry, combined with an opportunity to experience it all through Continuum practice. Utilizing breath, sound, movement, meditative open attention, and perceptual inquiry, this workshop provides an opportunity to experience an embodied understanding of the wisdom of the sensations of the living human body.
